Abstract

In developing this project, the author has identified a few objectives. The objectives are divided into two categories. They are the main objective and also the sub-objectives. For the main objective of this project is to develop the Electronic Nose (E-Nose) at a lower cost compared to the other sensing machine such as Gas Chromatography. For the first sub-objective of this project is to exploit Carbon Dioxide (CO2) as a critical element in differentiating between drinkable and non-drinkable water. The second sub-objective is to develop the hardware circuit together with the data acquisition system as the interface for the user. Meanwhile, the problem statement for this project can be divided into three categories which are the contamination of drinking water through microbial aspects, chemical aspects, and radiological aspects. Besides, the current method to evaluate drinkable and non drinkable water requires complex and expensive equipment
