Abstract
The depletion of fossil fuel resources is a sign to look for alternative sources to sustain the present demand and also the future. Alternatives resource such as wind and solar energy is the famous sources attracted by the energy sector to be developed. However the drawback of these sources is the unpredictable nature and its dependency on weather and climate changes. The integration of both resources called the hybrid can be implemented to ensure the sustainability of the energy. One method to optimize the energy is to do the sizing system for both solar and wind. Designing a sustainable hybrid system for solar and wind requires proper sizing for the several components such as wind turbine, solar panel, batteries, charge controllers and inverters. The sizing optimization can help to ensure the lowest investment with sufficient and full use of solar and wind energy. The sizing system works better when having battery bank for the continuous supply of energy when the sunshine and wind blow is not available due to the climate changes. The average monthly solar and wind values must be considered to determine whether the system design is suitable to be implemented at certain areas. The system developed was used to perform sizing analysis that was built to power an AC load of 100Wh and 50Wh of DC load. The hybrid system built uses 10W solar panel and it has a storage capacity for 2 days.
