Abstract
Mathematical models mainly act as an approach in analyzing a system that have to be controlled or optimized. In analysis, engineers can build a descriptive model of the system as a simulation of how the system could work, or try to estimate how an unforeseeable event could affect the system. In this case, the mathematical models reliability is questionable as it could be a model that engineers depend on. In other words, engineers cannot simply use results from the mathematical model since the accuracy may be questionable. Under these circumstances, the mathematical model should be tested and the author had chosen a model from Plant Process Control in order to achieve the objective of analyzing the reliability and also identifying any inconsistencies of the mathematical model. Thus, the standard simulation tools such as MATLAB will be used to evaluate the reliability based on comparison between actual and simulated mathematical model used in the project. The inconsistencies in the mathematical model will be then identified during the evaluation of the reliability.
