Abstract

The objective of this project is to investigate on the optimization of nano sized Nickel Oxide (NiO) catalyst which has been used in development of Carbon Nano Fiber (CNF). Find the best condition or criteria of nano sized Nickel Oxide for the development. CNF is synthesized from the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of carbon containing gasses over transition metal of the catalyst. The size of catalyst will control the type of CNF produced. In this case, the catalyst used is Nickel Oxide. Taguchi Method is used as design of experiment and Precipitation Method is used for preparation of Nickel Oxide Catalyst. After run the numbers of experiments, the sample will be study and observed using some equipment like X-Ray Diffraction of the catalyst (XRD) and Field Emission Electron Microscope (FESEM) imaging to determine the size and characteristic of catalyst.
