Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the different between the productions of nutrients within aerobic and anaerobic productions of nutrients within aerobic and anaerobic sludge digestion. Using biomass from clarifier of refinery wastewater, the analysis give a promising results. There are nitrification process in both reactors, and due to the experiments, anaerobic digester produce more nitrification than in aerobic digester. The retention time for both reactors is 362 hours. The characteristic of the sludge given from the refinery are as follows: nitrate = 1.5 mg/L of NH3-N.
