Abstract

The rate of pollution is alarming and this has caused severe global environmental issues such as global warming and depletion of ozone layer. Due to this, there is a
demand for clean and renewable energy. The goal of this project is to design, model, simulate and optimize a linear generator that is powered by wave energy. Wave energy is one of the most environmental friendly energy sources and it is also one of the cheapest forms of renewable energy sources. Linear generator is an electromechanical energy converter. It undergoes a reciprocating motion that converts mechanical power into electrical power. It does carry the advantage of being more environmental friendly, more energy efficient, lighter and more compact.
