Abstract

This project focuses on the development of iris recognition technique, due to the needs of better
security authentication system to replace a system that usually relies on the password system set by the user. Biometric authentication system utilises the behavioural and physical traits to identify individuals. In this project, an iris recognition technique based on the John Daugman’s algorithm is used. The technique implements several steps such as segmentation, normalization, feature extraction and matching process. In this project, the proposed iris recognition technique will be based on the John Daugman’s algorithm. The accuracy of the proposed technique will be determined using the False Acceptance Rate (FAR) and False Rejection Rate (FRR).
