Abstract
The quest for alternative clean energy has long been initiated as the world is facing
climate change and depletion of fossil fuels. Gasification of biomass is one of the
potential sources of renewable energy. Waste leaves have potential to be used as a
feedstock for power generation. Waste leaf pallets is one of the most easily found
biomass available for gasification in rural area. Electrification in rural area can be
costly especially in developing countries. However, few researches have been
conducted on the gasification of waste leaves. Consequently, by studying the
gasification performance of waste leaf pallets, this biomass feedstock can be
determined whether it is suitable for power generation in rural area. The objective of
this research is to study the performance of gasification of waste leaf pallet and the
effects of varying parameters on the syngas quality produce from the gasification of
waste leaf pallets.
