Abstract
The origin of overpressure in the Malay Basin is investigated by examining
wireline log responses. 3D seismic interval velocity is used for predrill
overpressure prediction. The quality of the seismic velocity is enhanced using
the grid based velocity modeling technique. 3D basin modelling is carried out
to test various hypotheses concerning mechanisms and to reconstruct the
overpressure evolution in the study area
