Abstract
All the West Baram Delta fields are matured fields with declining production.
There is therefore the need to better characterize reservoir rocks in the delta to
enhance production and exploration success. The primary research objective of this
study is to characterize heterogeneities in reservoir rocks of West Baram Delta and to
determine the impact of rock heterogeneities on reservoir rock quality and
hydrocarbon distribution. In all the literature reviewed, there is no such integrated
study on offshore reservoir rocks in the delta. Therefore, the facies, petrographic,
geochemical, petrophysical and hydrocarbon distribution analysis were carried out on
core samples trom seven subsurface wells in the delta.
