Abstract

This research focused on Thermal Maturation and Stratigraphy of the Black Shale Beds in the Kinta Limestone, Kanthan. The Kanthan limestone forms parts of Paleozoic passive margin shelf sequence deposited on the Sibumasu terrane. It is highly faulted succession of bedded, slightly metamorphosed pale-grey limestone, siliceous limestone and thinly interbedded dark grey to black limestone and shale which form the eastern limbs of an anticline exposed in the northern face of Lafarge cement quarry, Gunung Kanthan, Perak.
