Abstract
This study presents the results on determining the potential seismic geohazard located on the shallow subsurface of Bujang Field in Malay Basin. Several approaches from both geology and geophysics have been applied throughout this study in order to produce well-oriented results. These approaches incorporate basic geological study of the Bujang Field, tectonic and basin history of Malay Basin, structural and stratigraphy of Bujang Field, seismic interpretation and seismic attribute analysis. The main focus of this study is to observe, describe and map on any potential geohazard that may occur at the Bujang Field areas by utilizing the available seismic data to further reduce a situation leading to damages or uncontrolled risk. However, as it is only covers the shallow hazards that might occur on Bujang Field shallow subsurface, the study is only limited from seismic data time 0 ms to -1000 ms. Two horizons were interpreted known as Horizon 1 and Horizon 2. These horizons describe and highlight the main geohazards features such as palaeo-channels, gas leakage and also faults. These geohazards could be seen clearly in seismic by using the approach of seismic interpretation technique particularly in term of the seismic amplitude and continuity of the reflectors. In total, there are ten zones been marked using TWT surface map as the most potential hazardous zone for the oil and gas industry to be operated. Several detailed descriptions such as the size, width and depth of the geohazard has been discussed in Chapter 4 of this project. In the end, a geomorphological map is generated which highlights all the possible geohazards could be found in Bujang Field.
