Abstract

Presently, low-decision water quality tracking is carried out, and water samples are accumulated at regular intervals for chemical evaluation inside the laboratory. It’s time-consuming and costly for employees to acquire water samples, go back to laboratory to check and repeat the same process for distinctive water sources. The solution to the problem is water sensor with cloud connectivity. This device provides real-time data that monitors the condition of the water on regular basis. From these monitoring devices, necessary measures can be taken to treat the water and thus maintaining the quality of water for daily usage. Remote monitoring systems commonly encompass 3 elements: data acquisition, data transmission and data evaluation. The system utilizes three sensors; temperature, pH and turbidity. The data from these sensors are sent into a dashboard by using GSM/GPRS module and Arduino UNO microcontroller. The results are displayed in form of graphs and indicators. If the value of any of these parameters are below the threshold, a notification will be sent to a person responsible via e-mail or SMS. The device is a low-cost system as most of the components used are off-the-shelf products and accessible from retailers.
