Abstract

This paper is about the studies on the comparing of the result of fitting methods by using the polynomial, gaussian, sine and Jain’s method for the solar data prediction in UTP. The data is obtained from the UTP solar lab which is taken from 6.30 A.M to 7.30 P.M. The result of the data fitting is compared based on the coefficient of determination R2 and the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) value. Based on the comparison of the data fitting method, the best two fitting method will be chosen to be used on the new proposed weighted fitting method. The aim of using the weighted fitting method is to get a better result with minimum error as compared to the conventional fitting method for the solar data prediction in UTP.
