Abstract
Development of numerical model to predict the movement of spilled oil and bacteria in Malaysian seawater is as important as planning for emergency response. The outcome will be a major contribution to oil spill response team in Malaysia as it is useful for planning and execution of oil spill mitigation. Despite practicing various oil spill mitigation methods, bioremediation was found to be the most effective solution. However, the effectiveness of bioremediation process varies according to variability of the field area and in Malaysia, the study has not been studied extensively. Therefore, it is the interest of this study to analyze the effect of seawater physical properties on the transport of spilled oil and bacteria in seawater at Lumut, Perak.
