Abstract
The ability to see is essential to all and is always never cared for until one’s vision is impacted.
Technologies now a days plays crucial role in one’s daily life especially when it comes to visual
impairment. Visual impairment is having the disability to see normally without the mean of
fixable access of usual means such as glasses or contact lenses. The visually impaired has been
relying heavily and mostly on Braille and other technology devices as a primary reading
method that is used for education purposes for accessing information. However, they are still
insufficient in providing them the ability to live independently without the need of assistance
to access information through impromptu daily activities. The other reading technologies are
not only costly, but also impractical as they are immobile to access small details of information
in their surroundings. In this proposed project, the aim of it is to enable the visual impaired
users to access information through hearing with Optical Text Recognition (OCR) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) be the development of a mobile application.
