Abstract
Construction delays can be identified as the timetable or contract schedule for the late completion of construction. In addition, construction industry is often known as one of the most dangerous. Not only do accidents result in major pain and suffering, they also marginalize efficiency, quality, time and adversely impact the environment and ultimately add to the construction costs. This research aimed to identify the major causes, the consequences and strategies for reducing construction delays and the safety factors affecting building projects. For each of the 10 for time and safety factors defined from literature review, each respondent is asked to give a rating of one to five. 36 responses were received back from the survey. All collected data is analyzed using statistical tools such as Relative Importance Index (RII) and Average Index (AVI). The Alpha test from Cronbach helps to assess both the association of groups of respondents and the reliability and validity of the sample.
