Abstract
This paper focus on the study of problem and issue faced by university management in handling
and recording academic staff Key Performance Indicator. The scope of the study is mainly
focusing on the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) academic staff key performance
indicator that uses to track academic staff progress and performance in the university. This
further justify through the review of literature on the primary reasons of performance assessment
and performance indicator, the usability of user interface to improve user experience, and the
lean six-sigma in increase the productivity. Methodology conducted throughout the project is
iterative waterfall model that is divided into software planning, software design, software
implementation, and software testing with the adaptation of Microsoft Office365 which includes
Power Apps, SharePoint and Microsoft Outlook. As a result, this project paper presents a key
performance indicator for UTP academic staff that fulfills the project requirements through
presenting an application to improve the overall performance of the academic staff towards
achieving the university’s strategic goals.
