Abstract
The study area of this paper is located at FELCRA Seberang Perak, which is one of the big estate plantation and granary area in Malaysia, which is about 16,437ha. The objective of this paper is to investigate the availability on the water resource to irrigate the paddy crop. Hydraulic and hydrology data are collected on site during both wet and dry season. Rainfall data and water level of Sungai Perak are obtained from Department of Drainage and Irrigation of Malaysia (DID). Flow measurement and water samples are collected twice a month from March to August (wet season) and August to January (dry season). From the value of theoretical and actual discharge at main canal show a different which is 7,435.51 Ml/day and 137.72 Ml/day. In this paper, we used Hec-ras model to compute the flow characteristics to analyze the hydraulic behavior of this system. ArcGIS software is used to extract the bathymetry for each cross section and the distance between two adjacent cross sections.
