Abstract

In order for human to fulfill their needs and wants, they have to travel to fulfill the objective. However, travel is far more complex than it seems and even can harm people if viewed in certain perspective such as fatality accident, being exposed to polluted environment and affecting our health condition. In other perspective, travel can improve the health of individual particularly on physical health. This can be achieved by factoring the physical intensity in activity travel participation. On top of that, the built environment would also indirectly affect the individual’s overall health. Using the 2013 Bandung Metropolitan Area (BMA) dataset consisting of three-weeks household time-use and activity diary, this study analyses the interaction of activity-travel pattern, built environment and physical intensity on physical health.
