Abstract
The enclosed nature of underground loading docks and their limited contact with
outdoor air will result in poor indoor air quality due to quick accumulation of motor
vehiclesemissions. Concentrations ofmany harmful air pollutants includingPMio can
increase and reach dangerous levels. PMio have been attributed to increased mortality
rates and respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. This study aims at modelling PMio
concentrations in an underground loading dock located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Firstly, PMio concentrations were continuously measured inside the loading dock for
20 weeks using the real-time air quality monitoring instrument (AQM60) starting from
November 8th, 2014. Secondly, a group of statistical tests were applied using the SPSS
in order to evaluate the indoor air quality in term of PMio concentrations.
