Abstract

Nowadays, most of the industries are moving towards Industrial Revolution
(IR) 4.0 technologies. IR 4.0 has been defined as the current trend of automation
and data exchange in manufacturing technologies, internet of things and others
related industries where most of the task that human do will be replace with the
machine task force to do it. The machine task force also known as an industrial
autonomous robot. Same goes to the lawn care industry where the manual lawn
mower has been transformed into lawn mower robot to ease human to mow the
yard. The purpose of this report is to describe the details of the Smart Dry Mower
Robot. It is an improved version of existing lawn mower robot by having
additional feature to it which is to vacuum the water on the lawn when the humidity
level of the ground is abnormal. This improved lawn mower robot is controlled
with Arduino microcontroller powered with battery. The robot will stop moving
for a while when the sensor detect the abnormal humidity level of the lawn area
that the robot has pass through and vacuum the water from the specific area into
the tank. Once the humidity level of that lawn area back to normal, the robot will
continue to move on the selected path pattern on the yard. The ultrasonic sound
wave ranging will be used to detect the obstacles ahead and avoid it. The mobile
app controller that is connected to the robot will be able to monitor the behaviour
of the robot during its operation and able to receive push notification alert when
the water tank is full, and the battery is low.
