Abstract

With the rapid growth of modern technology, people are moving from telephone to a
mobile phone. From the mobile phone it evolves to a smartphone where most people
are using internet as part of their daily life. In terms of food ordering, people evolve
from the traditional method which is a phone call to a more modernized method which
is ordered using an online platform. It is great that people are used with the
digitalization. But the problem is for people with food allergy. The risk of ordering
food online is because the food contains any kind of allergen that may harm the buyer.
This is because most people are only having low symptoms. With the current platform
available in Malaysia, it does not focus on any food allergy. Other than that, people
are not aware about the allergen that may contain in their food as there is little to no
warning during the food ordering. The solution is EatSafely where it guides the user
by eating safely. EatSafely is an application that will help to view the list of ingredients
of the food and filter food with food allergy especially on Crustaceans allergen. The
purpose of this application is to improve awareness about food allergy among food
providers and people and to avoid the risk faced by people with food allergy. With this
application, people can check their food ingredients before proceeding in the ordering
on the platform like Food Panda or Grab Food. EatSafely application was developed
using Ionic as its main framework, angular as its back-end function and will use
Firebase as its database. The reason for using Ionic-Angular is to provide the
availability for both major environment which are IOS and Android. The application
was tested by a group of people by doing an application demonstration to prove the
functionality of the application. Lastly, the application was being testing using System
Usability Scale (SUS) testing to collect the data and feedback about the application.
