Abstract
Transportation was one of the main issues confronting university students especially
for university in remote area. This project is to develop Android mobile application or
known as Uni-Ride for carpooling with the purpose to overcome various of difficulties
when student want to go out of the campus.
UNI-Ride will be implemented by open source software, which will bring efficiency
and flexibility to the system. Visual Studio Code defined as Source Code Editor and
will be used as a tool exclusively for Android platform development whilst the
framework will be Flutter as it offers faster and latest mobile development and more
efficiency in code sharing. A few features will be being develop during development
phase such as security for the apps (emergency button), chat box, option to choose the
carpoolers to give women the option to travel with women only and also schedule trip
and reserve trip. Basically, UNI-Ride will provide a simple, safe, economical and
smart alternative to urban mobility. Most of students heading towards the same
destination but no platform to announce their intention. To overcome this issue, this
project will discuss on how to indicate that the use of this mobile application system
will encourage student to share ride among University student with the same location
by using Android mobile app without worries about their security and allows students
to own their schedule which will allow to enhance the financial, mobility and
environment advantages inherent to their use.
