Abstract

This thesis deals with two key aspects of multiscale digital elevation model (OEM)
analysis; surface roughness and uncertainty modelling. Previous works on surface
roughness reveals several issues, such as inability to discriminate surfaces of varying
amplitude and frequency, and variance with rotation and translation.
