Abstract
This project will explain the progress regarding Dynamic Adaptive Conversion
Hybrid (DASH) that converts a conventional PERODUA MyVi into a hybrid vehicle
with a minimal modification. This project will complete the configuration of Energy
Management System that are represented by using National Instrument (NI)
CompactRIO, cRIO-9076 that are to be placed inside the dashboard of the car. The
EMS are responsible to synergize and monitors the engine and motor parameter, thus
commands them into desired strategy based on the driver`s input to the vehicle itself.
In this project, the EMS program need to be modified to accommodate brake pedal
position and its measurement. This brake pedal position is key element needed for the
vehicle to determine how much energy shall be recovered during braking. Besides, this
project requires the modification to the output signal from the throttle position sensor
to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to enable enhanced throttle control during hybrid
operation. Lastly, a CAN bus communication between EMS and Motor Controller Unit
(MCU) are to be established for In Wheel Motor (IWM) parameter reading and control.
