Abstract
This research covers the coastal morphological changes that are affecting both the
locals and the building nearby at Pantai Teluk Nipah, Pulau Pangkor. Ever since the
storm event that occurred at the end of November 2017 at Pantai Teluk Nipah, the
Pantai Teluk Nipah is more venerable to erosion by various factor and one of which is
longshore sediment transport. The aim of the study is to select the suitable empirical
formula to predict and determine the longshore sediment transport rate at Pantai Teluk
Nipah. In order to select the suitable empirical formula, the measured LSTR has to be
computed by performing site sampling at Pantai Teluk Nipah. data collection process
involved collecting of the sediment samples, beach properties and hydrodynamics
from the location. Site sampling at Pantai Teluk Nipah commence on 22 September
2020 till 24 September 2020. Three streamer traps were used for the collection of the
sediment samples. These streamer traps were deployed at the surf zone of Pantai Teluk
Nipah for sample collection.
