Abstract
Biomass gasification is a decomposition of biomass into a combustible gas mixture
through partial oxidation of biomass under high temperature. There are 4 main
processes of the biomass gasification which is drying, pyrolysis, oxidation reduction
and reduction reaction. This paper is to simulate a biomass gasification system by
using SIMULINK software. Several research on the previous paper has been studied.
Parameter and variables of the biomass gasification process has been identified and
evaluated. Mathematical model and transfer functions of gasification and combustion
reaction has been derived base on the first principle equations. Simulation work has
been carried out with the mathematical model and transfer function derived. Step
change simulation will work based on the modelling in the SIMULINK. The data used
to input to equations has obtained from the UTP biomass gasifier plant. The process
flow diagram and equipments used in the biomass process plant has presented in this
paper. The result has discussed accordingly.
