Abstract

Dust explosion poses serious threats including fatalities, severe injuries, loss of properties and major downtime of the facility. There are five elements required for dust explosion to occur including fuel, ignition source, oxidant, confinement and dispersion. One of the important parameters to indicate the ignition sensitivity is minimum ignition energy (MIE).
