Abstract

The heterogeneity of biomass and inferior quality of pyrolytic bio-oil possess as great challenges for utilisations of abundant oil palm biomass in Malaysia. Hence, this work investigated the in-situ catalytic pyrolysis of oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) using CaO/HZSM-5 catalyst in hope to produce higher quality bio-oil.
