Abstract

As the world fights climate change, reducing carbon emissions is crucial. Recycling waste materials helps lower carbon footprints, especially by managing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. This paper presents a framework to manage and reduce emissions from recycling processes. Scope 1 emissions come directly from recycling facilities, while Scope 2 emissions come from electricity and heat. The framework uses sustainable practices, technology, and strategic management to identify, measure, and reduce emissions at different recycling stages.
