Abstract
A dust explosion is a rapid combustion event involving suspended fine particles in an enclosed space, triggered by an ignition source and the presence of oxygen. Over 70% of dust in industries, including food ingredients, synthetic materials, metals, and traditional fuels, are combustible. Several parameters determine the possibility of a dust explosion such as minimum explosion concentration (MEC), minimum ignition energy (MIE) and minimum ignition temperature (MIT).
