Abstract
This study is about assessing flood damage at residential area. Flood damage assessment significantly used for flood management studies which supply crucial information to decision support and policy development in the fields of natural hazard management and adaptation planning to climate change. As for this study, data collection from Storm Water Management Tunnel flood assessment will be used to come out with flood damage rate at residential areas. Flood damage rate plays an important role whereas it will act as multiplyer to area of inundated area. As for this study, it will produce with more specific damage rate for residential area where it will be based on type of buildings at those area such as damage rate for terrace houses, kampong houses, flat, bungalow and many more. This study also will apply new methodology of assessing flood damage which is Geographical Information System (GIS) Land-Used Base where the area of inundated area will be determined from multiple layering of land-use and area affected by flood. International approach and methodologies of assessing flood damage also will be reviewed to improve present local approach and methodologies.
