Abstract
This work will provide analysis on three-switched-capacitor buck converter to show that it can produce lower output voltage compared to the conventional buck converter. The study was conducted as to meet the requirement of the subcomponents of battery-operated hand held devices which internal supply voltage keep on decreasing with the advancement of the technology. The three switch capacitors are integrated with a DC-DC buck converter with a 12 V input voltage, 50 kHz switching frequency and having 0.5 duty cycle. The following converters will be simulated using Multisim software to obtain the characteristics of its input and output inductor current, as well as its output voltage. It is found that the converter is able to produce a low output voltage and high input current. Furthermore, the voltage values can be varied with the variations of the duty cycle.
