Abstract

Liquid-gas ejector bubble column induced bubble column have been widely used in chemical and biochemical processes especially in oxidation, petroleum refining and fermentation to achieve high interfacial area and high mass transfer. Specifically, the usage of ejector in thermal power station for removal of the boiler bottom ash, in boiling water nuclear reactor it is used to circulate the coolant fluid and in chemical process it is used to inject chemicals into the boiler drums of small, low pressure boilers
Bubble column reactors use as a model in this experiment because bubble column are very effective and very simple in design and no mechanical agitator is required. Some other advantages is because they provide uniform bubble size, higher residence time of the gas bubbles and very small amount of gas being dispersed.
The unit can also be used to study the characteristic of ejector with both vertical up-flow and down-flow contactors column. The study was analyzed the result findings from the previous experiments which is the relationship between pressure and flow rate using co-current ejector pilot plant. It has been observed that the factor that limits the air entrainment rate is the low discharge coefficient in the liquid inlet line. This experiment is also to observe the relationship of discharge coefficient in the air inlet line to the air entrainment rate.
