Abstract

Rotational moulding is a method of producing hollow plastic parts by adding plastic powder into the mould and rotating the mould about two axes while the mould is being heated. Rotationally moulded products often have several defects that are inherent to plastic moulding manufacturing processes. The significance of this research would be crucial in determining the problems related to rotational moulding and finding the solutions to overcome these problems. This research starts by researching and identifying the various problem statements related to rotational moulding. There are three problems that are being considered; which are warpage, pin holes or bubbles and parting line problems. Next is determining the objective and scope of study of this project then follow by the literature review. Technical journals and articles related to the topic and problem statements are being reviewed and summarized to provide useful information and data for this study. Then, by taking into considerations of all the literature reviews, a new prototype is designed and fabricated for experiment and research purposes.
