Abstract

This paper presents a study of the dynamic behavior of a rotor system supported by magnetic bearing and auxiliary bearing. Specifically, the work will investigate the range of realistic operating parameters. That will evolve around the rotation pattern of magnetically supported rotor, the vibration that occurs during the operation and the results difference after adjustments of some input parameters. The simulations of rotating rotor with magnetic bearing supports will be executed using MATLAB and ANSYS software. By varying the damping ratio and stiffness coefficient, the simulation shall produce different results. The results will be recorded, analyzed and discussed
