Abstract

This report focuses on the comparative analysis on the machinability of grey cast iron using conventional and non-conventional machining. For conventional machining, a vertical milling machine was used while for non-conventional machining, an EDM wire cut machine was used. Surface finish was selected as the basis for the comparative analysis. This report analyzed the rate of machinability of grey cast iron by various machining processes. This report also includes the specific project activities which involve the machining processes which were milling and EDM wire cut. The work pieces were machined according to the specific cutting speed where the feed rate was constant.
