Abstract
Trains have evolved since the last century, yet, not much evolvement in suspension system. This old system needs some evaluation and validation. Simulation helps in evaluating and analyzing the current design. Simulating train suspension system in this project use simulation software
called MATLAB SIMULINK. Basic concept of suspension system, vibration and simple model of spring-mass-damper was studied. This will help in developing the simulation model in the software. Within the MATLAB SIMULINK, block diagrams were used in order to build the simulation model. A set of spring and dampers parameters was used in the simulation of the suspension. Results produce from the simulation was analyzed to know its oscillation and time for it to return back to its initial position
