Abstract

Metal matrix composite (MMC) is one of the technologies used in a big or small scale of manufacturing. MMC are produces by different method such as fabricated using Friction Stir Processing (FSP) method which is innovated from Friction Stir Welding which had been started in 1991. The composites fabricated possess good Young Modulus, good compressive strength and good compressive ductility. One of the common metals used in the process is Aluminium and it is combined with Copper during the process to produce Aluminium Copper Metal Matrix Composite. The metal matrix will be fabricated using CNC vertical milling center and specially designed FSP tool. The MMC fabricated will be fabricated with different parameters during the process and they will be tested in several tests to show its enhancement in characteristics.
