Abstract

This report presents the discussion on the mechanical properties of polyester/woven kenaf composites under the standard of ASTM. It consists of project’s background, literature review, methodology, and all the relevant process and component related to this project. The usage of natural fiber in composites has been a huge breakthrough in Material Department. Natural fiber has very unique properties that can be used as a reinforcement of composites. Natural fiber has several advantages compare with glass fiber in terms of density, cost, renewability, abrasiveness, recyclability and biodegradability. With this, it can produce a better material that can be commercialized.
