Abstract

The goal of the project is to determine the design and the material used to fabricate both the body and the frame of a simple one man vehicle in order to increase the fuel efficiency. The vehicle frame design and configuration was referenced from the literature review based on the number of members and joints to reduce the total material used. The most suitable frame configuration that was used for the project is the ladder frame chassis. The frame material was chosen with the density and yield strength as criteria to reduce weight without sacrificing strength.
